《机密录》是艺术家从2016年开始研究并制作的一系列科幻作品,目前共有三个阶段,分别是: 《机密录:双城》(2018),《机密录:行刑》(2019)和《机密录:重写》(2020)。

美国的科学家雷·库兹威尔提出了“加速回报定律”,并描述了技术变革的指数级增长将导致奇点——机器智能将超越人类智能。这一理论发表前不久,香港的九龙寨城,一个绰号为黑暗之城和犯罪之城的法外之地被清拆,结束了治理问题和几十年的即兴成长,此后继续其作为赛博朋克形象和一个沉重的文化偶像存在。

在《机密录》这件作品中,一座虚拟的未来地下城市继承了九龙寨城的这些特征,成为反抗人工智能的庇护所与最终前线。在科学家雷·库兹威尔预言成真的未来,真血人类以网路战、非正规军,以及暗杀团等反抗手段,以某种社群现象的型态运作,企图夺回地面上的城市。这在社会的多数派——日以继夜生产出的人工智能看来,只不过是一种对抗「人工智能平民」的恐怖主义实践。

American technologist Ray Kurzweil proposed “The Law of Acceleration Returns”, and described the exponential growth of technological changes that will lead to the Singularity — machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence.

“Confidential Records” is a series of fictitious works the artist has been researching and working on since 2016. It consisted of three phases so far, Dual Metropolitans (2018), Execution (2019) and Overwrite (2020).

American technologist Ray Kurzweil proposed “The Law of Acceleration Returns”, and described the exponential growth of technological changes that will lead to the Singularity — machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence. Not long before the publish of this theory, Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong, an ungoverned outlaw zone, nicknamed “City of Darkness” and “City of Crime”, was demolished and ended its issue of governance and decades of improvisational growth, and thereafter continued its life as a cyberpunk image and a heavily burdened cultural icon.

In the story “Confidential Records”, the virtual underground city inherits these characteristics and functions as a shelter and final frontier to fight against the AI. In the future as futurist Ray Kurzweil predicted, Pure Blood Humans revolted in various ways such as cyber warfare, illegal army, assassin team, etc. Human-beings work as a community phenomenon, attempting to take back the city aboveground. While in the eyes of majority, in this case, the artificial intelligence that is being produced day and night, is nothing but a practice of terrorism, a political violence against “civilians”.

新媒体艺术家曲渊澈,主要以声音视觉作为创作媒介,包括声音视觉现场演出、剧场、电脑动画与绘画。她的作品结合现场演出,探索与当代表演类型,如舞蹈、编舞, 与计算机生成艺术之间共存的可能性。她的视觉作品结合了技术与她的艺术实践,以再现和转换城市景观为一个集成的虚拟体验,引导观众在符控流域旅行。作品当中的多重纹理与我们感知的多个感官相连,重新介绍视频作为一种媒介的潜力。她的作品注重叙事性,跨媒介的叙事手法是艺术家表达观念的重要方式。尤其是混合出现的图纸,3D打印物件与计算机游戏美学的视频作品,显示了艺术家运用的多种媒介与材料来视觉化她的研究型作品。

Vvzela Kook is a new media artist who mainly works in audio-visual mediums, including performance, theatre, computer graphics and drawing. Kook’s video works combine technology with her artistic practice to reproduce and convert urban cityscapes into an integrated virtual experience, guiding the audience on a cybernetic journey. The condensed textures in her works connect with multiple sensual levels in our perception and reintroduce the unexplored potential of video as a medium. The narrative plays an important role in her work, the transmedia storytelling is part of the artistic concept. Especially the mixing of delicate drawings, 3D printing and video game optics in her videos show the wide range of media and materials the artist uses to visually translate her research-based projects.
